Bryan Bvyn Wong is a designer in urban, landscape, clothing and moving images. He has previously launched collective Z5SSP in 2019, a collective that broadcasts subculture & fashion in the city through multimedia; and co-founded Dissident Studio in 2021, which practices modernology into everyday life researches. The Studio has recently participated in the annual DeTour Design Festival and are also top 6 of the Climate Action Scheme organized by Hong Kong SDG Hub. He has graduated with First Class Honors & multiple Dean's Honors List from the BA in Landscape Studies degree at Division of Landscape Architecture, The University of Hong Kong (HKU) and will be furthering his education as a SMArchS Architecture and Urbanism candidate at the Department of Architecture, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) beginning this Fall. His research largely draws into the interplay between dressing culture and the built environment which he believes that individual clothing choices are essentially abstractions of our living spaces, and that planners and designers should draw greater depths in the field when using notions such as “participatory” or “bottom-up”.
